Chocolate Baklava

Baklava is a very popular Turkish dessert, and it has many different variations. This is the chocolate baklava recipe which is a really elite dessert served after dinner or tea parties for grand guests.

Chocolate Baklava
Origin: Turkish, Greek
Difficulty: Advanced

Ingredients:

Dough:
Note: Easier alternative is using readymade phyllo, if so skip this part
-(Must) 3 eggs
-(Must) 3 tbsp Greek yogurt / alternatively you may use 8 tbsp milk
-(Must) 3 tbsp corn or sunflower seed oil
-(Must) 1 tbsp vinegar
-(Must) All purpose flour (amount depends, see directions)
-(Must) 3 tbsp cacao powder

Filling:
-(Must) 1 cup pistachio or walnut, smashed
-(Must) 1 cup chocolate chips

When spreading dough:
-(Must) 1 cup corn starch
-(Must) 1 cup cocoa powder
-(Must) Butter (0.5 kg or equivalently 1.1 Ibs)

Syrup:
-(Must) 4 cups water
-(Must) 4 cups sugar
-(Must) 1/2 lemon


Directions:

Combine all the ingredients of dough but flour in a bowl or mixer. Add sufficient amount of flour until you get a thickened dough. Cover with a cloth and leave it to rest for 30 minutes. Divide dough to 15 equal pieces. Roll each dough slightly larger than your tray. Leave butter in low heat to melt.

Place 6 six of your rolled dough onto a greased tray while buttering up in every 2 layers. Sprinkle half of the filling and then put upon 5 more layers. Sprinkle the other half of the filling. Lap rest of the layer. Don't forget to butter up. Whit a sharp knife, rip to 4 cm x 4 cm pieces. Baste rest of butter over last layer.  

Prepare your over to be heated in 150C and bake baklava until it fries nicely. While it's getting baked, prepare the syrup. Combine all ingredients and keep them boiling for 15 minutes in low heat. After you get baklava out oven spill all the syrup on it. Fancy up with chocolate and pistachio sprinkles.

  1. This chocolate baklava is looking so different from other and I am sure it will be the tasty one. I always tell my wife to make this at home but she always refuse me and that's why I need baklava online order from here I can eat all amazing and delicious baklava at a reasonable price.
